Pink Alert: eLuxury

4.20.2009

As you may or may not know, eLuxury will be closing down the retail division of their website this summer. I've never really ordered a lot of charms from them since they rarely ever have great sales and shipping is a swift kick to the gut. However, the few charms that they do have left are at a really great discount, and shipping is free if you hit $100. As of today (04/21/09) here's what's left:

Viva La Juicy Frame, $29
Candy Corn, $29
LE Devil Yorkie, $29
Malibu Gold Tanning Oil, $25
Snow Boot, $29
Luxe Starter Necklace, $59
Starter Charm Bracelet, $25

They also have the LE Holiday Bracelet from '08 that includes the Christmas Tree, Stocking, and Snowflake charms (plus a really adorable heart that reads I ♥ Chocolate Santas - why was this never released individually?!) for $92. The major drawback to this bracelet, aside from the price, is that the charms are not removable.

Other Juicy accessories and jewelry pieces are available, but I've only listed the charm related stuff here. And as an added bonus, Lucky Rewards will get you 2% cash back on your purchase with eLuxury.

Update: I received an e-mail today from Louis Vuitton, stating that as of May 15th all of their products will be exclusive to their own website. Perhaps this is the official closing date for eLux? If so, the time to jump on merchandise is now.. less than a month left!

On The Horizon: Lucky 7

4.17.2009

Spotted at Bloomingdale's online Juicy Couture Summer Trunk Show: a very flashy and very pave Lucky number 7 is making its way into the silver family.

I have my fingers crossed that the seven is a precursor to Juicy reintroducing some of the good Vegas charms. If there can't be any re-releases then at least give me some new ones. Vegas is my absolute favorite city and I would love to see an updated version of the slot machine charm (perhaps with a little more color?). I'm not really all that thrilled with this one, though. It's kind of bland. Maybe it will have some sparkle in real life but this photo isn't doing it any favors.

$: 52.00
Where: Pre-order from Bloomingdales.com
Buyin' or Eyein'?: Eyein'.
Plus One?: Nope.
Misc.: You can earn 2% cash back through LuckyRewards on all Bloomingdale's purchases.

On The Horizon: Carousel Horse

Spotted at Bloomingdale's online Juicy Couture Summer Trunk Show: one runaway carousel horse, headed for the gold family.

I've added this one to my list, simply because my bedroom when I was a kid had carousel horses all over it. I've always loved carousels and I'm excited about this charm, even if I'm not over the moon about the color scheme. (Blue and red, Juicy? Really?) Plus the head looks a little misshapen to me.. perhaps the ears aren't big or pronounced enough?

It's a shame that Juicy doesn't release things in themes - they could have hit one out of the park with a set of carousel animals and/or carnival themed charms.

$: 58.00
Where: Pre-order from Bloomingdales.com
Buyin' or Eyein'?: Buying!
Plus One?: One for Little E - she's a horse fanatic.
Misc.: I'm not going to place a pre-order for this one. I plan on holding out to see if I can find it for at least a 15-20% discount. $58 is high, especially since the detail isn't extraordinary on this one. And don't forget that you can earn 2% cash back through LuckyRewards on all Bloomingdale's purchases.

Store Review: Revolve

4.15.2009

I can count on one hand the number of times I've ordered from Revolve. Don't mistake this for a bad thing, though; when I order from Revolve I order a LOT. They're one of my preferred websites for hunting Juicy charms.

Selection:
Sometimes they're a little behind other larger sites and stores, like Nordstrom's, but generally their selection is pretty up to date and plentiful. The only time you'll see things going out of stock quickly is during a promotion or big sale (like 20% off your entire purchase).

Pricing:
Regular retail pricing for Juicy merchandise.

Customer Service:
I've never had a problem placing or receiving my order. I've heard horror stories from others about e-mails to CS going unanswered for weeks on end, though.

Returns:
Revolve offers free returns, but their actual policy is a little more complicated than that. If you're unsure about a future purchase with them you may want to read up on it here before placing an order. I've never had to make a return to Revolve so I can't attest to how good or bad the process is.

Discounts:
Revolve definitely isn't pumping out the discount codes every month but they happen often enough. If you are a first time customer you can call their customer service number (1-888-442-5830) to obtain a 30% off code for your first purchase.

Shipping & Tax:
Shipping is, delightfully, free! For US orders it comes via USPS Priority, but you do have the option of upgrading to overnight, or picking from an assortment of UPS services. International shoppers receive free shipping when they spend $100 or more; anything less than that gets a flat $10 fee (excluding those in Canada: you'll still get it free). If you want expedited shipping make it $20. Revolve does have a regular retail store in West Hollywood, CA so I would say it's a safe bet that any CA residents face regular taxes on their purchases.

Bonus!:
  • Revolve does ship out their Juicy charms with the foam intact, as well as the white paper wrapper and the plastic bag. This is a HUGE selling point for me - I like keeping the foam inside the box and the extra paper and bag help to protect the box during shipping. All shipments have been received with foam peanuts inside, which keeps the charms from banging around in transit.
  • You can earn 3% cash back through the LuckyRewards program. The program is sponsored by Lucky magazine, and you have to be a subscriber to access it. If you're not you can sign up for a 90-day trial of just the rewards program here. LuckyRewards hosts a variety of merchants, including eLuxury, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom's, and Sak's - all of which sell Juicy.
